About
Patrick Swift, PhD, MBA, FACHE
Patrick grew up in Texas, the son of a Mexican mother and a Texan father, with grandparents who were Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant. His family held different beliefs, had different colors of skin, and spoke different languages. It reminds him of a hospital.
He studied theology at a Jesuit seminary before turning to psychology, and he has spent his career in the places where people carry each other: at the bedside, in the hospital corridors, and in the boardroom.
In 2011 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He knows the hospital from the patient's side of the bed, too.
Dr. Patrick Swift is a practicing clinical psychologist and former senior hospital leader with doctoral and postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology. He earned his PhD from the University of Connecticut and completed a fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. He earned his MBA in Healthcare Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017 and has been board-certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) since 2014.
Patrick spent over a decade on hospital brain-injury and neuro-rehabilitation units providing clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology services, followed by senior healthcare leadership roles at NYU Langone, NewYork-Presbyterian, RWJBarnabas Health, and Select Medical. He currently runs a private practice, Swift Psychological LLC, primarily serving U.S. Veterans.
Through Swift Healthcare LLC, he brings what he learned at the bedside and in the boardroom to the people still doing that work, through writing, speaking, and consulting.
